FVA Spotlight: Hope Willenbrink. Kimberly Cross Country and Track and Field

Each week during the 2014-15 year beginning in late October, the Fox Valley Association will feature two student-athletes (one male and one female) from one of its 10 schools for a "Student-Athlete Spotlight" Q & A segment. The segments will be posted every Tuesday and Thursday and individuals are selected by the school.

Favorite aspect of your school: I enjoy the teachers and all the different classes I've been involved in. I have learned so much and have grown with so many great peers by my side.

Favorite aspect about being involved in school activities: I love being a part of the Track and Cross Country team. I've made great friends on the team and I always feel I have teammates by my side pushing me to do my best. My coaches have been very helpful in pushing me to achieve my goals, and I have created a great relationship with them.

College or post-high school plans: I plan on attending Winona State University in the Fall. 

What is your desired major/career field? I am still undecided for my major, but I plan on minoring in Music and running on the Cross Country and Track team.

What is your favorite class? Human Anatomy and Ceramics

Who is your favorite teacher? Mrs. Sutton and Mrs. Schaefer

Favorite book: The Maze Runner

Favorite youth coach: Jason Jansen

What is the best advice one of your coaches has given you? Coach Sutton was telling our team to enjoy the moments we are experiencing now together with our friends.  These are the times that we are going to miss and regret not working hard for something we are shooting for.

Something people would be surprised to know about me is…: Most people think that I am very shy and that I don't talk much but once they get to know me they find out that I am very funny and friendly.

Favorite place to play on the road in the FVA? Kaukauna (Conference Cross Country meet)

Favorite athlete to compete against in the FVA: Both Appleton North and Neenah girls teams have been very good competition 

Favorite memory from being involved in co-curricular activities is…: My favorite memory is last year at the Sectional Track meet. It was a great experience qualifying for State and breaking two school records with my 4x800 and 4x400 relay teams.

Favorite professional team: Green Bay Packers

Favorite professional athlete: Aaron Rodgers

A non-athletic talent I have is…: Singing
