FVA Spotlight: Emily Lautenschlager, Hortonville Volleyball

Each week during the 2015-16 school year, the Fox Valley Association will feature two student-athletes (one male and one female) from one of its 10 schools for a "Student-Athlete Spotlight" Q & A segment. The segments will be posted every Tuesday and Thursday and individuals are selected by the school.

Favorite aspect of your school: My favorite aspect of school has been choosing classes specific to my interests and exploring my capabilities in my favorite subjects like Spanish and art.
 
If you have been involved in community service projects, which has been most rewarding and why? Although it is an in school club/activity and not completely considered community service, I am involved in a group called Hope Social in which we plan activities and set aside days to work with students with all different abilities. This is especially rewarding because whatever time spent with these kids is appreciated and viewed as the best thing in the world to them.
 
College or post-high school plans: I plan to attend The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay to study Graphic Design and Spanish and be a part of the volleyball team in the fall of 2016.
 
What is your desired major/career field? Graphic Design and Spanish

What is the best advice one of your coaches has given you? The very best advice any coach has given me was after a loss, "always keep your head up and your spirits high, to guide your team forward."
 
Something people would be surprised to know about me is…: I love to write and someday I hope to publish a novel I have written.

Favorite memory from being involved in co-curricular activities is…: All of the victories I have shared with my teams.
