FVA Spotlight: Rachel Terry, Neenah Golf and Softball

Each week during the 2015-16 school year, the Fox Valley Association will feature two student-athletes (one male and one female) from one of its 10 schools for a "Student-Athlete Spotlight" Q & A segment. The segments will be posted every Tuesday and Thursday and individuals are selected by the school.

Favorite aspect of your school: The positive and energetic environment that all of the teachers here create. As well as the different events that Neenah hosts for the community.
 
If you have been involved in community service projects, which has been most rewarding and why? Phase 2.3 has been one of the most rewarding projects I have been involved with. Phase 2.3 is where Neenah High School's Special Olympics basketball team plays a game against a team of teachers at our school. This year, I was able to be help plan the event and just seeing the excitement of all of the Special Olympians makes the whole night even better. This is such a special moment for these students and I am so glad I was able to be a part of it!
 
College or post-high school plans: I am looking to attend UW-Green Bay, hopefully playing either golf or softball there as well. 
 
What is your desired major/career field? Elementary/Middle Education
 
What is your favorite class? Math

What is the best advice one of your coaches has given you? Don't overthink. Stay Positive. Smile.
 
Something people would be surprised to know about me is…: I have a huge family! My mother has six brothers AND six sisters! We sure have a great Christmas party!
 
Favorite place to play on the road in the FVA? Golf- Reid Golf Course; Softball- Appleton East
 
Favorite memory from being involved in co-curricular activities is…: Hitting in the winning run at a home game against Appleton North
 
Favorite professional team: Green Bay Packers
 
Favorite professional athlete: Jordy Nelson
 
What is at the top of your “bucket list?” To rob an over the fence home run in softball
 
What is your dream job? Fifth Grade Teacher
