FVA Spotlight: Claire Fischer, Appleton North Track and Field

Each week during the 2014-15 year beginning in late October, the Fox Valley Association will feature two student-athletes (one male and one female) from one of its 10 schools for a "Student-Athlete Spotlight" Q & A segment. The segments will be posted every Tuesday and Thursday and individuals are selected by the school.

Sports: Track and Field

Other school clubs/activities: National Honor Society, Link Crew, and Peer Helpers 

Parents’ names: Randy and Kay Fischer

Favorite aspect of your school: The constant support from classmates and teachers. 

Favorite aspect about being involved in school activities: The variety of people you get to meet. Sharing common interests and ideas and genuinely caring for the same things. 

College or post-high school plans: I will be attending and running at UW Eau Claire.

What is your desired major/career field? Human Services 

What is your favorite class? Psychology 

Who is your favorite teacher? Mr. Eastman 

What is the best advice one of your coaches has given you? Playing a sport is almost 100% mental. If you walk onto the track with a bad mindset, you will perform that way.

Something people would be surprised to know about me is…: I work for a construction company. 

Favorite place to play on the road in the FVA? Neenah 

Favorite athlete to compete against in the FVA: Annalise Peebles, Appleton North 

Favorite memory from being involved in co-curricular activities is…: Making it to state with my team.
