Kimberly Makes it Three Straight Boys Track and Field State Championships

Kimberly captured its third consecutive WIAA Division 1 state boys track and field championship on June 1 in La Crosse. Rowen Ellenberg led the Papermakers with a state title in the 800 meter run and a runner-up finish in the 1600 meter run. Nick Tomasovic was third in both the shot put and discus, while Caleb Frazer was runner-up in the 110 meter hurdles.

Kimberly totaled 46 points to outscore runner-up Waukesha North, which had 39 points. It is Kimberly's fifth state track title, having also won in 1960 and 2014 in addition to the past two years. The title is Kimberly's 31st in any sport and its 13th over the past seven years.
