Kimberly Captures Eighth State Football Title

Blake Barry scored his fourth touchdown of the game with 26 seconds left to give Kimberly a thrilling 34-30 win over Mukwonago and its eighth WIAA state football championship on Nov. 18 in Madison.

Barry finished the day with 184 yards on 33 carries and Seth Miron passed for 112 yards and one touchdown as Kimberly finished the season 13-1 overall. The Papermakers won five straight titles from 2013-17 and also won championships in 2007 and 2008. Their eight titles are the second-most in state history behind St. Mary's Springs' nine crowns.

It was the 10th state title won by an FVA squad with Appleton West taking a title in 1992 and Oshkosh North winning in 2000. Kimberly has now won 35 state titles in school history in all sports, including 21 since 2007.
