Kimberly avenged a state championship loss to Germantown with a four-set victory on Nov. 9 in Green Bay for the school's first state boys volleyball title. The Papermakers were runner-up to Germantown last year, but posted a 25-21, 25-13, 22-25, 25-20 victory in this year's final. Landon Krause and Spencer Herman each recorded 11 kills and Tony Wisneski totaled 31 assists for Kimberly, which finished 29-5 overall.
It was the 12th state boys volleyball title won by an FVA member school. Most recently, Kaukauna won in 2015 and Appleton North was the 2011 champion. The other titles all came prior to boys volleyball being discontinued in 1983. For Kimberly, it was the school's 32nd state title in any sport with 18 of those coming since 2007.
