FVA Spotlight: Kevin Abernathy, Jr., Oshkosh North Football, Track and Field and Wrestling

Each week during the 2015-16 school year, the Fox Valley Association will feature two student-athletes (one male and one female) from one of its 10 schools for a "Student-Athlete Spotlight" Q & A segment. The segments will be posted every Tuesday and Thursday and individuals are selected by the school.

Favorite aspect of your school: Being able to see my friends and teammates every day.
College or post-high school plans: I would like to play football at the college level, though I haven't decided on where that will be yet.
What is your desired major/career field? I would like to major in Criminal Justice and become a Police Officer or some other position in law enforcement.
What is your favorite class? Strength and Conditioning with Coach Zemke
Who is your favorite teacher? Ms. Ackerman
Favorite youth coach: Mr. Whittaker
What is the best advice one of your coaches has given you? That if there's a bird in the sky during defense not to look or its a lap. -Coach Timerman
Something people would be surprised to know about me is…: If I'm not around a group of my friends I'm actually a calm and quiet person.
Favorite place to play on the road in the FVA? Hortonville
Favorite athlete to compete against in the FVA: Donte Johnson (Fond du Lac) and Blake Kalwitz (Hortonville)
Favorite memory from being involved in co-curricular activities is…: Win against Appleton North this year was one of the happiest moments in my life so far

Favorite professional athlete: JJ Watt
What is at the top of your “bucket list?” I would love to go to a Packer Super Bowl
What is your dream job? NFL player
